After the LASIK Procedure
- You will be able to go home to rest almost immediately after the procedure. However, you will need to be driven home after the procedure, so please make arrangements to have some available to assist you.
- You will be given eye drops to use after the procedure.
- You will receive printed instructions and our staff will thoroughly review these instructions with you.
- Activity restrictions are as follows:
- Avoid make-up for 4 days.
- Avoid dirty environments (i.e. gardening) for 4 days.
- No swimming or hot tubs for 2 weeks.
- No driving until permitted (typically within one day). We will advise you about driving during the one day post-op visit.
- Avoid rubbing your eyes during the first month.
- Avoid getting shampoo in your eyes while bathing or showering.
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 2 days.
- You will be given wrap around sunglasses to wear while outdoors and to prevent you from rubbing your eyes.
You will be given clear plastic shields to protect your eyes while sleeping for up to 5 days.
